Corvallis Montana is located
5 miles North of Hamilton and 40 miles from Missoula. It is considered one of the
oldest towns in the valley and the heart of the Bitterroot
Valley.
Corvallis was established as a
trading post. When it was first established sage brush was
the most abundant crop, very arid land but also very
fertile.
This was not a planned Montana town; the population
grew from people just settling down close to a trading post,
thus getting the name of a "pioneer" town. Big
ranches abound in the area and the beauty of the valley
around Corvallis is breath taking. Corvallis Montana real
estate is varied from hillside lots offering magnificent
views to Bitterroot River property to ranch land. You'll
love Corvallis Montana!
It is a quaint little town
and being close to Hamilton, it has many advantages
of the larger towns, but still maintaining that wonderful
small town feel and Big Sky attitude!
The name Corvallis is a
French name meaning the "Center of the Valley" and
that is exactly what Corvallis Montana is, the center of the
gorgeous Bitterroot Valley.
